Lefkada is famous for its beautiful beaches and crystal clear waters. However, the island has other secret ”natural" treasures that surprise visitors who discover them.

Those who have been in the mood to explore the island a little more, they will definitely get to know Dimosari gorge, where at the highest point of its beautiful route is the homonymous waterfall.

It is a place reminiscent of a work of art and offers moments of absolute peace and tranquility. This fairy-tale location that welcomes nature lovers, is located a short distance from Nidri - about 4 km west.

The waterfall attracts many people all year round. It springs near the village of Platystoma and in its course meets smaller torrents from the surrounding areas and ends up in the landscaped for a walk location west of the settlement of Rahi. There it forms its famous waterfall and other smaller ones, before ending up in the sea in Nidri.

Paved path along the flow of water and small wooden bridges lead between trees, in the large waterfall that you can enjoy a cool bath in the small natural pools.

> There is a car park. The route from the parking lot to the big waterfall is about 400 meters and lasts around 20-30 minutes on foot on the landscaped path. A little caution should be exercised at certain points of the route, because they may slip, especially on the steps leading to the large waterfall.

> You can combine your walk with coffee in the cool cafe Platanos (open only in the summer season) at the entrance of the route and food in the cosmopolitan Nidri village.
